예레미야 애가
1. 사람이 가득하던 도시가 어찌 외로이 앉았는가! 그녀가 어찌 과부같이 되었는가! 민족들 가운데서 큰 자로 지내며 지방들 가운데서 공주로 지내던 그녀가 어찌 속국이 되었는가! 1. How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
2. 그녀가 밤에 심히 울매 그녀의 눈물이 뺨에 흐르는도다. 그녀가 사랑하는 모든 자들 가운데 그녀를 위로하는 자가 그녀에게 없으며 그녀의 모든 친구들도 그녀를 배반하고 그녀의 원수가 되었도다. 2. She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
3. 유다는 고난과 심한 노동으로 인하여 포로가 되어 갔나니 그녀가 이교도들 가운데 거하며 안식을 얻지 못하는도다. 그녀를 핍박하는 모든 자들이 협곡들 사이에서 그녀를 따라잡았도다. 3. Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.
4. 아무도 엄숙한 명절들을 지키러 오지 아니하므로 시온의 길들이 애곡하는도다. 그녀의 모든 성문들은 황폐하며 그녀의 제사장들은 탄식하고 그녀의 처녀들은 고난을 당하나니 그녀가 쓰라림 속에 있도다. 4. The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
5. 그녀의 대적들이 우두머리가 되고 그녀의 원수들이 형통하니 이는 그녀의 많은 범법으로 인하여 {주}께서 그녀를 괴롭게 하셨기 때문이라. 그녀의 자녀들이 원수 앞에서 포로가 되어 갔도다. 5. Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
6. 시온의 딸의 모든 아름다움이 그녀를 떠났으며 그녀의 통치자들은 초장을 찾지 못하는 수사슴같이 되어 뒤쫓는 자 앞에서 힘없이 갔도다. 6. And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, and they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
7. 예루살렘이 자기의 고난과 불행을 당하던 날에 곧 그녀의 백성이 원수의 손에 넘어가고 아무도 그녀를 돕지 아니하며 대적들도 그녀를 보고 그녀의 안식일들을 조롱하던 때에 자기가 옛날에 가졌던 것 즉 자기가 기뻐하던 모든 것을 기억하였도다. 7. Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, and did mock at her sabbaths.
8. 예루살렘이 심하게 죄를 지었으므로 옮겨졌도다. 그녀를 존귀히 여기던 모든 자들이 그녀의 벌거벗음을 보았으므로 그녀를 멸시하는도다. 참으로 그녀가 탄식하며 뒤로 물러가는도다. 8. Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.
9. 그녀의 더러움이 그녀의 옷자락 속에 있건마는 그녀가 자기의 마지막 끝을 기억하지 아니하는도다. 그러므로 그녀가 놀랍도록 낮아졌으나 그녀에게 위로자가 없도다. 오 {주}여, 원수가 자기를 크게 높였사오니 나의 고난을 보시옵소서. 9. Her filthiness is in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified himself.
10. 대적이 자기 손을 내밀어 그녀가 기뻐하던 모든 것 위에 두었나이다. 주께서 이교도들에게 명령하사 그들이 주의 회중 안으로 들어오지 못하게 하셨사온대 그들이 자기의 성소에 들어온 것을 그녀가 보았나이다. 10. The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
11. 그녀의 온 백성이 탄식하고 빵을 구하며 혼을 소생시킬 음식을 얻으려고 자기들이 기뻐하던 것들을 내주었나이다. 오 {주}여, 보시고 깊이 생각하소서. 내가 비천하게 되었나이다. 11. All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider; for I am become vile.
12. ¶ 지나가는 너희 모든 사람들아, 그 일이 너희에게는 아무것도 아니냐? 내가 당한 슬픔 같은 슬픔이 있는지 보고 또 살펴보라. {주}께서 친히 맹렬히 분노하신 날에 그 슬픔으로 나를 괴롭게 하셨도다. 12. ¶ Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
13. 그분께서 위로부터 내 뼈들에 불을 보내사 그것이 그것들을 이기게 하셨도다. 그분께서 내 발을 노리고 그물을 치사 나를 돌아서게 하시며 종일토록 나를 황폐하게 하시고 기진하게 하셨으며 13. From above hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate and faint all the day.
14. 내 범법들의 멍에를 자신의 손으로 묶으시고 그것들을 고리로 엮으사 내 목에 올리셨도다. [주]께서 내 힘을 쇠하게 하시고 나를 그들의 손에 넘겨주셨으므로 내가 그들을 피하여 능히 일어서지 못하는도다. 14. The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand: they are wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he hath made my strength to fall, the Lord hath delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
15. [주]께서 내 한가운데서 내 모든 용사를 발아래 밟으시며 나를 치려고 집회 무리를 부르사 내 젊은이들을 짓밟으셨나니 [주]께서 처녀 곧 유다의 딸을 포도즙 틀에서 밟듯 밟으셨도다. 15. The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
16. 이 일들로 인하여 내가 우나니 내 혼을 소생시킬 위로자가 내게서 멀리 계시므로 내 눈에서 곧 내 눈에서 눈물이 흘러내리는도다. 원수가 이겼으므로 내 자녀들이 황폐하게 되었도다. 16. For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
17. 시온이 자기 손을 펴나 그녀를 위로할 자가 없도다. {주}께서 야곱에 관하여 명령하사 그의 대적들이 그를 에워싸게 하셨으므로 예루살렘이 그들 가운데서 생리하는 여인같이 되었도다. 17. Zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD hath commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
18. ¶ {주}는 의로우시도다. 내가 그분의 명령을 거역하였도다. 모든 백성들아, 원하건대 듣고 나의 슬픔을 보라. 나의 처녀들과 나의 청년들이 포로가 되어 갔도다. 18. ¶ The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
19. 내가 나의 사랑하는 자들을 불렀으나 그들이 나를 속였으며 나의 제사장들과 나의 장로들이 자기 혼을 소생시킬 양식을 구하다가 도시 안에서 숨을 거두었도다. 19. I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and mine elders gave up the ghost in the city, while they sought their meat to relieve their souls.
20. 오 {주}여, 보시옵소서. 내가 고통 중에 있사오며 내 애가 타고 내 마음이 내 속에서 뒤집혔나이다. 내가 극심히 반역하였으므로 밖에서는 칼이 앗아가고 집에서는 죽음 같은 것이 있나이다. 20. Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
21. 내가 탄식하는 것을 그들이 들었으나 나를 위로하는 자가 없고 내 모든 원수가 나의 고난을 듣고는 주께서 그렇게 행하신 것을 즐거워하나이다. 주께서 이미 부르신 그 날을 가져오시리니 그들이 나처럼 되리이다. 21. They have heard that I sigh: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that thou hast done it: thou wilt bring the day that thou hast called, and they shall be like unto me.
22. 그들의 모든 사악함을 주 앞에 끌어내시고 나의 모든 범법으로 인하여 주께서 내게 행하신 것 같이 그들에게도 행하시옵소서. 나의 탄식이 많고 나의 마음이 힘을 잃었나이다. 22. Let all their wickedness come before thee; and do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
1. 어찌 [주]께서 친히 분노하사 구름으로 시온의 딸을 덮으시고 이스라엘의 아름다움을 하늘에서 땅으로 던지시며 친히 분노하시는 날에 자신의 발받침을 기억하지 아니하셨는가! 1. How hath the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!
2. [주]께서 야곱의 모든 처소를 삼키시고 불쌍히 여기지 아니하셨으며 친히 진노하사 유다의 딸의 강한 요새들을 허물어 땅으로 끌어내리시고 왕국과 그것의 통치자들을 더럽게 만드셨도다. 2. The Lord hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.
3. 그분께서 친히 맹렬한 분노로 이스라엘의 모든 뿔을 꺾으시며 원수 앞에서 자신의 오른손을 거두어들이시고 사방에서 삼키는 불 곧 타오르는 화염 불같이 야곱을 향해 타오르셨도다. 3. He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
4. 그분께서 원수같이 자신의 활을 당기시며 대적같이 자신의 오른손을 들고 서서 시온의 딸의 장막에서 눈으로 보기에 아름다운 모든 것을 죽이시고 자신의 분노를 불같이 쏟으셨도다. 4. He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
5. [주]께서 원수같이 되어 이스라엘을 삼키시고 그녀의 모든 궁궐을 삼키시며 자신의 강한 요새들을 멸하시고 유다의 딸 가운데 애곡과 애통을 더하셨도다. 5. The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
6. 그분께서 자신의 장막을 동산의 장막같이 격렬히 치워 버리시며 자신의 집회 처소들을 멸하셨도다. {주}께서 시온에서 엄숙한 명절들과 안식일들을 잊어버리게 하시며 친히 분노하시고 격노하사 왕과 제사장을 멸시하셨도다. 6. And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
7. [주]께서 자신의 제단을 버리시고 자신의 성소를 몹시 싫어하사 그녀의 궁궐들의 벽을 원수의 손에 넘겨주시매 그들이 {주}의 집에서 엄숙한 명절에 하듯 소리를 질렀도다. 7. The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.
8. {주}께서 시온의 딸의 성벽을 무너뜨리기로 작정하사 줄을 잡아당기시고 무너뜨리는 일에서 자신의 손을 거두지 아니하셨나니 그러므로 그분께서 보루와 성벽으로 하여금 통곡하게 하시매 그것들이 함께 쇠하였으며 8. The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
9. 그녀의 성문들이 땅 속으로 가라앉았도다. 그분께서 그녀의 빗장들을 파괴하시고 부수시므로 그녀의 왕과 그녀의 통치자들이 이방인들 가운데 있으며 다시는 율법도 없고 그녀의 대언자들도 {주}로부터 나오는 환상 계시를 찾지 못하는도다. 9. Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
10. 시온의 딸의 장로들이 땅에 앉아 잠잠하며 티끌을 자기 머리에 뿌리고 굵은 베를 자기 몸에 두르매 예루살렘의 처녀들도 자기 머리를 땅으로 숙였도다. 10. The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.
11. 내 눈이 눈물로 쇠약해지며 내 애가 타고 내 간이 땅에 쏟아졌으니 이는 내 백성의 딸이 멸망하여 아이들과 젖먹이들이 도시의 거리들에서 기절하였기 때문이로다. 11. Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.
12. 그들이 도시의 거리들에서 부상당한 자들같이 기절하고 자기 혼을 자기 어머니 품에 쏟으면서 자기 어머니에게 이르기를, 곡식과 포도즙이 어디 있나이까? 하는도다. 12. They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.
13. 오 예루살렘의 딸아, 내가 무엇을 가져다가 너를 위하여 증언하랴? 내가 너를 무엇에 비유하랴? 오 시온의 처녀 딸아, 내가 무엇을 너와 같게 하여 너를 위로하랴? 너의 상한 것이 바다 같이 크니 누가 능히 너를 고치겠느냐? 13. What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee?
14. 네 대언자들이 너를 위해 헛되고 어리석은 것들을 보았으므로 네 불법을 들추어내지 못하고 네 포로 된 것을 되돌리지 못하였도다. 그들이 너를 위해 거짓된 경고와 추방당할 구실을 보았도다. 14. Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.
15. 지나가는 모든 자들이 너를 향하여 손뼉을 치며 예루살렘의 딸을 향하여 비웃고 머리를 흔들며 말하기를, 이것이 사람들이 아름다움의 극치요, 온 땅의 기쁨이라 부르던 도시냐? 하고 15. All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?
16. 네 모든 원수들은 너를 향하여 자기들의 입을 벌리며 비웃고 이를 갈며 말하기를, 우리가 그녀를 삼켰도다. 우리가 기다리던 날이 분명히 이 날이라. 우리가 그 날을 만나고 보았도다, 하는도다. 16. All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
17. {주}께서 이미 계획하신 일을 행하시고 옛날에 명령하신 자신의 말씀을 이루셨도다. 그분께서 무너뜨리시되 불쌍히 여기지 아니하시고 네 원수로 하여금 너로 인해 기뻐하게 하시며 네 대적들의 뿔을 세우셨도다. 17. The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.
18. 그들의 마음이 [주]를 향하여 부르짖기를, 오 시온의 딸의 성벽아, 밤낮으로 눈물을 강같이 흘릴지어다. 너 스스로 안식하지도 말며 네 눈동자를 쉬게 하지 말지어다. 18. Their heart cried unto the Lord, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.
19. 밤에 일어나 부르짖을지어다. 경점들이 시작되는 때에 네 마음을 [주]의 얼굴 앞에 물같이 쏟을지어다. 굶주림으로 인해 모든 거리의 높은 곳에서 기진한 상태에 있는 네 어린 자녀들의 생명을 위하여 그분을 향해 네 손을 들지어다, 하였도다. 19. Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
20. ¶ 오 {주}여, 보시옵소서. 주께서 누구에게 이 일을 행하셨는지 깊이 생각하소서. 여인들이 자기 열매 곧 한 뼘 되는 아이들을 먹어야 하리이까? 제사장과 대언자가 [주]의 성소에서 죽임을 당하여야 하리이까? 20. ¶ Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?
21. 젊은이와 늙은이가 거리에서 땅에 누웠사오며 나의 처녀들과 나의 청년들이 칼에 쓰러졌나이다. 주께서 친히 분노하시는 날에 그들을 죽이시되 불쌍히 여기지 아니하시고 죽이셨나이다. 21. The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied.
22. 주께서 엄숙한 날에 부르시는 것 같이 내가 두려워하는 것들을 사방에서 부르사 {주}께서 분노하시는 날에 아무도 피하거나 남지 못하게 하셨나이다. 내가 포대기로 싸서 기른 자들을 내 원수가 소멸시켰나이다. 22. Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD'S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.
1. 나는 그분의 진노의 막대기로 말미암아 고난을 본 자로다. 1. I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
2. 그분께서 나를 인도하사 어둠 속으로 데려가시고 빛 속으로 데려가지 아니하셨으며 2. He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
3. 친히 돌이키사 확실히 나를 치시고 자신의 손을 돌리사 종일토록 나를 치시는도다. 3. Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.
4. 그분께서 나의 살과 피부를 낡게 하시고 나의 뼈들을 꺾으시며 4. My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
5. 나를 치려고 산들을 쌓으시고 쓸개와 산고로 나를 에워싸시며 5. He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
6. 죽은 지 오랜 자들 같이 나를 어두운 곳들에 두셨도다. 6. He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
7. 그분께서 내 둘레에 울타리를 치사 내가 나가지 못하게 하시며 내 사슬을 무겁게 하시고 7. He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
8. 또한 내가 부르짖으며 소리를 질러도 내 기도를 물리치시고 8. Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
9. 다듬은 돌로 내 길들을 에워싸시며 내 행로들을 굽게 하셨도다. 9. He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
10. 그분께서는 내게 마치 숨어 기다리는 곰과 은밀한 곳에 있는 사자 같으사 10. He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
11. 내 길들을 옆으로 돌리시며 나를 찢으시고 황폐하게 하셨도다. 11. He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
12. 그분께서 자신의 활을 당기시고 나를 화살의 과녁으로 삼으셨으며 12. He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13. 자신의 화살 통의 화살들로 하여금 내 콩팥 속으로 들어가게 하셨도다. 13. He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
14. 내가 내 온 백성에게 조롱거리가 되었으니 곧 종일토록 그들의 노랫거리가 되었도다. 14. I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
15. 그분께서 나를 쓴 것으로 배불리시고 쑥으로 취하게 하셨으며 15. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
16. 또 조약돌로 내 이를 부러뜨리시고 재로 나를 덮으셨도다. 16. He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
17. 주께서 내 혼을 평강에서 멀리 떠나게 하시니 내가 형통함을 잊었나이다. 17. And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
18. 내가 이르기를, 나의 힘과 나의 소망이 {주}를 떠나 사라졌다, 하였도다. 18. And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
19. 내가 나의 고난과 나의 재난 곧 쑥과 쓸개를 기억하며 19. Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20. 내 혼이 여전히 그것들을 기억하므로 내 속에서 겸손하게 되었도다. 20. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21. 내가 이것을 내 마음에서 생각하므로 내게 소망이 있도다. 21. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22. ¶ {주}의 긍휼로 말미암아 우리가 소멸되지 아니하였으니 그분의 불쌍히 여기심은 끝이 없도다. 22. ¶ It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23. 그것들이 아침마다 새로우니 주의 신실하심은 크시나이다. 23. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24. 내 혼이 이르기를, {주}는 나의 몫이오니 그러므로 내가 그분께 소망을 두리로다, 하는도다. 24. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25. {주}께서는 자신을 기다리는 자들과 자신을 찾는 혼에게 선하시도다. 25. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26. 사람이 {주}의 구원을 바라고 잠잠히 기다림이 좋도다. 26. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
27. 사람이 젊었을 때에 멍에를 메는 것이 그에게 좋으니 27. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
28. 그가 홀로 앉아서 잠잠함은 그분께서 그것을 그에게 지게 하셨기 때문이라. 28. He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
29. 혹시 소망이 있을까 하여 그가 자기 입을 흙 속에 대는도다. 29. He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
30. 그가 자기를 치는 자에게 자기 뺨을 내주어 스스로를 치욕으로 가득 채웠도다. 30. He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
31. [주]께서 영원토록 버리지 아니하시리라. 31. For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
32. 그러나 그분께서 근심하게 하실지라도 자신의 많은 긍휼에 따라 불쌍히 여기시리니 32. But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
33. 그분은 고의로 사람들의 자녀들을 근심하게 하거나 슬프게 하지 아니하시는도다. 33. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
34. 땅에 있는 모든 갇힌 자들을 발로 짓밟는 것과 34. To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
35. [지극히 높으신 이]의 얼굴 앞에서 사람의 권리를 외면하는 것과 35. To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
36. 사람이 사정을 밝힐 때에 그를 뒤엎는 것은 [주]께서 인정하지 아니하시는도다. 36. To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.
37. ¶ [주]께서 어떤 일을 명령하지 아니하셨는데도 그것을 말하여 이루어지게 할 자가 누구냐? 37. ¶ Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
38. 화와 복이 [지극히 높으신 이]의 입에서 나오지 아니하느냐? 38. Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
39. 사람이 자기 죄들의 형벌을 받을진대 살아 있는 사람이 어찌하여 불평하리요? 39. Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
40. 우리가 우리의 길들을 살피고 시험하여 {주}께로 다시 돌아가자. 40. Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
41. 우리가 우리의 마음과 손을 다 같이 하늘들에 계신 하나님께 들어 올리자. 41. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
42. 우리가 죄를 짓고 반역하였더니 주께서 용서하지 아니하셨나이다. 42. We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
43. 주께서 분노로 덮으시고 우리를 핍박하시며 죽이시고 불쌍히 여기지 아니하셨나이다. 43. Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
44. 주께서 구름으로 자신을 가리사 우리의 기도가 통과하지 못하게 하시고 44. Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
45. 우리를 그 백성의 한가운데서 찌꺼기와 쓰레기로 만드셨으므로 45. Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
46. 우리의 모든 원수가 우리를 향하여 자기들의 입을 벌렸사오며 46. All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
47. 두려움과 올무와 황폐함과 멸망이 우리에게 임하였나이다. 47. Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
48. 내 백성의 딸의 파멸로 인하여 내 눈에서 눈물이 물 있는 강같이 흐르는도다. 48. Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49. 내 눈에서 눈물이 줄줄 흘러 그치지 아니하고 쉬지도 아니하되 49. Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
50. {주}께서 내려다보시고 하늘로부터 바라보실 때까지 그리하는도다. 50. Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
51. 내 도시의 모든 딸들로 인하여 내 눈이 내 마음을 상하게 하는도다. 51. Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
52. 내 원수들이 새를 사냥하듯 까닭 없이 끈질기게 내 뒤를 쫓았나이다. 52. Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
53. 그들이 지하 감옥에서 내 생명을 끊고 내게 돌을 던졌나이다. 53. They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
54. 물들이 내 머리 위로 흐를 때에 내가 말하기를, 나는 끊어졌다, 하였나이다. 54. Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
55. ¶ 오 {주}여, 내가 낮은 지하 감옥에서 주의 이름을 불렀나이다. 55. ¶ I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
56. 주께서 내 음성을 들으셨사오니 내가 숨 쉴 때에 또 내가 부르짖을 때에 주의 귀를 가리지 마소서. 56. Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
57. 내가 주를 부른 그 날에 주께서 가까이 오사 이르시되, 두려워하지 말라, 하셨나이다. 57. Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
58. 오 [주]여, 주께서 내 혼의 사정들을 변호하시고 내 생명을 구속하셨나이다. 58. O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
59. 오 {주}여, 주께서 나의 억울함을 보셨사오니 나의 사정을 판단하소서. 59. O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
60. 그들의 모든 보복과 나를 치려고 그들이 꾀하는 모든 것을 주께서 보셨나이다. 60. Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
61. 오 {주}여, 그들이 모욕하는 것과 나를 치려고 그들이 꾀하는 모든 것을 주께서 들으셨으며 61. Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
62. 나를 치려고 일어난 자들의 입술과 종일토록 나를 대적하는 그들의 계략을 들으셨나이다. 62. The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
63. 그들이 앉고 서는 것을 보소서. 내가 그들의 음악거리가 되었나이다. 63. Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.
64. ¶ 오 {주}여, 그들의 손이 행한 대로 그들에게 보응하소서. 64. ¶ Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
65. 그들에게 마음의 슬픔을 주시오며 그들을 향한 주의 저주를 내리소서. 65. Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.
66. 분노로 그들을 핍박하사 {주}의 하늘들 아래에서 멸하소서. 66. Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
1. 어찌 금이 어둡게 되었는가! 어찌 가장 좋은 정금이 변질되었는가! 성소의 돌들이 모든 거리의 위 부분에 쏟아졌도다. 1. How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.
2. 정금에 비할 만큼 보배로운 시온의 아들들이 어찌 토기장이의 손으로 만든 질항아리같이 여겨지게 되었는가! 2. The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
3. 바다의 괴물들도 젖을 꺼내어 자기 새끼들이 빨게 하거늘 내 백성의 딸은 광야의 타조들같이 잔인한 자가 되었도다. 3. Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
4. 젖먹이가 목말라서 그의 혀가 입천장에 붙고 어린아이들이 빵을 구하나 그들에게 그것을 떼어 주는 자가 없도다. 4. The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.
5. 맛을 즐기며 먹던 자들이 거리들에서 황폐하게 되고 주홍색 옷을 입고 자란 자들이 거름더미를 껴안으니 5. They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.
6. 내 백성의 딸의 불법으로 말미암은 형벌은 소돔의 죄로 말미암은 형벌보다 크도다. 소돔은 순식간에 멸망을 당하였고 어떤 손도 소돔 위에 머물지 아니하였느니라. 6. For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
7. 그녀의 나사르 사람들이 눈보다 순결하고 젖보다 희며 그들의 몸이 루비보다 더 붉고 그들의 윤택함이 사파이어 같더니 7. Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:
8. 이제는 그들의 얼굴이 숯보다 검으므로 거리에서 그들을 알아볼 수 없으며 그들의 살갗이 뼈에 붙고 말라서 나무토막같이 되었도다. 8. Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.
9. 칼에 죽은 자들이 주려 죽은 자들보다 낫도다. 밭의 열매가 부족하므로 이들이 타격을 받아 쇠약해지는도다. 9. They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
10. 내 백성의 딸이 멸망할 때에 인정 많은 여인들의 손이 자기 자식들을 삶으니 그들이 저들의 음식이 되었도다. 10. The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
11. {주}께서 자신의 격노를 이루시며 자신의 맹렬한 분노를 부으사 시온에 불을 지르시니 그 불이 그것의 기초들을 삼켰도다. 11. The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.
12. 대적과 원수가 예루살렘의 성문들로 들어갈 줄은 땅의 왕들과 세상의 모든 거주민들이 믿지 못하였으리로다. 12. The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
13. ¶ 그녀의 한가운데서 의인들의 피를 흘린 그녀의 대언자들의 죄들과 그녀의 제사장들의 불법들로 인하여 13. ¶ For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,
14. 그들이 거리들에서 눈먼 자같이 떠돌아다니며 피로 자신을 더럽히므로 사람들이 그들의 옷을 만질 수 없었도다. 14. They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
15. 저들이 그들에게 외쳐 말하기를, 너희는 가라. 부정하다. 가라. 가라. 만지지 말라, 하였도다. 그들이 도망하여 떠돌아다닐 때에 저들이 이교도들 가운데서 말하기를, 그들이 다시는 거기에 머물지 못하리라, 하였도다. 15. They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.
16. {주}께서 분노하사 그들을 나누셨으니 다시는 그분께서 그들을 중히 여기지 아니하시리라. 그들이 제사장들을 존경하지 아니하고 장로들에게 호의를 베풀지 아니하였도다. 16. The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
17. 우리로 말하건대 우리가 헛되이 도움을 구하므로 우리 눈이 여전히 힘을 잃었나니 우리를 구원하지 못할 민족을 우리가 고대하고 고대하였도다. 17. As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.
18. 그들이 우리의 발자취를 찾아다니므로 우리가 거리에서 다닐 수 없도다. 우리의 끝이 이르렀으므로 우리의 끝이 가깝고 우리의 날들이 이루어졌도다. 18. They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.
19. 우리를 핍박하는 자들이 하늘의 독수리들보다 빠르매 그들이 산 위에서 우리를 뒤쫓고 광야에 숨어 우리를 기다렸도다. 19. Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
20. 우리 콧구멍의 숨 곧 {주}의 기름 부음 받은 이가 그들의 구덩이에 빠졌으니 그는 우리가 말하기를, 우리가 그의 그늘 밑에서 이교도들 가운데 살리라, 하던 이로다. 20. The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
21. ¶ 오 우스 땅에 거하는 에돔의 딸아, 기뻐하고 즐거워하라. 그 잔이 또한 지나가며 네게 이르리니 네가 취하여 스스로 벌거벗으리라. 21. ¶ Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.
22. ¶ 오 시온의 딸아, 네 불법으로 인한 형벌이 이루어졌으니 그분께서 다시는 너를 포로로 끌어가지 아니하시리라. 오 에돔의 딸아, 그분께서 네 불법을 벌하시며 네 죄들을 드러내시리로다. 22. ¶ The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.
1. 오 {주}여, 우리에게 임한 일을 기억하시고 우리의 치욕을 깊이 살피시며 주목하옵소서. 1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. 우리의 상속 재산이 타국인들에게, 우리의 집이 외인들에게 돌아갔나이다. 2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. 우리는 고아요, 아버지 없는 자들이오며 우리 어머니들은 과부들 같으니 3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.
4. 우리가 돈을 주고 우리의 물을 마셨으며 그들이 우리의 나무를 우리에게 파나이다. 4. We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
5. 우리의 목이 핍박 아래 있으므로 우리가 수고해도 안식하지 못하나이다. 5. Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.
6. 우리가 빵으로 만족하려고 이집트 사람들과 아시리아 사람들에게 손을 내밀었나이다. 6. We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
7. 우리 조상들은 죄를 짓고 없어졌으며 우리가 그들의 불법들을 담당하였나이다. 7. Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.
8. 종들이 우리를 다스렸으나 그들의 손에서 우리를 건지는 자가 없나이다. 8. Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.
9. 광야의 칼로 인하여 우리가 생명의 위험을 무릅써야 우리의 빵을 얻으며 9. We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
10. 우리의 살갗은 무서운 기근으로 말미암아 솥같이 검게 되었나이다. 10. Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
11. 그들이 시온에서 여인들을, 유다의 도시들에서 처녀들을 강간하였나이다. 11. They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.
12. 통치자들은 그들의 손에 의해 매달리고 장로들의 얼굴도 존경을 받지 못하였나이다. 12. Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
13. 그들이 젊은이들을 데려다가 맷돌을 돌리게 하고 아이들은 나무 밑에서 쓰러지며 13. They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
14. 장로들은 성문에 나가기를 그만두고 청년들은 음악을 그만두었나이다. 14. The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.
15. 우리 마음의 기쁨이 그치고 우리의 춤이 변하여 애곡이 되었으며 15. The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
16. 우리의 머리에서는 관이 떨어졌나이다. 우리가 죄를 지었으니 우리에게 화가 있을지어다! 16. The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
17. 이 일로 인하여 우리의 마음이 기력을 잃고 이 일들로 인하여 우리의 눈이 어두워졌도다. 17. For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.
18. 시온 산이 황폐하므로 여우들이 거기서 돌아다니나이다. 18. Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
19. 오 {주}여, 주는 영원토록 계시오며 주의 왕좌는 대대에 이르나이다. 19. Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.
20. 어찌하여 주께서 우리를 영원히 잊으시오며 우리를 이같이 오랫동안 버리시나이까? 20. Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?
21. 오 {주}여, 우리를 주께로 돌이키소서. 그리하시면 우리가 돌아가리니 우리의 날들을 옛날같이 다시 새롭게 하옵소서. 21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
22. 그러나 주께서 우리를 철저히 거절하셨사오며 우리에게 심히 진노하셨나이다. 22. But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
