호세아
1. 유다 왕 웃시야와 요담과 아하스와 히스기야 시대와 이스라엘 왕 요아스의 아들 여로보암 시대에 브에리의 아들 호세아에게 임한 {주}의 말씀이라. 1. The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2. 호세아로 말미암은 {주}의 말씀의 시작이라. {주}께서 호세아에게 이르시되, 가서 행음하는 아내를 취하고 행음으로 인한 자식들을 취하라. 그 땅이 {주}를 떠나 크게 행음하였느니라, 하시니라. 2. The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.
3. 이에 그가 가서 디블라임의 딸 고멜을 취하니 그녀가 수태하여 그에게 아들을 낳으니라. 3. So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.
4. {주}께서 그에게 이르시되, 그의 이름을 예스르엘이라 하라. 잠시 뒤에 내가 예스르엘의 피에 대한 원수를 예후의 집에 갚고 이스라엘의 집의 왕국을 그치게 하리라. 4. And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
5. 그 날에 내가 예스르엘 골짜기에서 이스라엘의 활을 꺾으리라, 하시니라. 5. And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.
6. ¶ 그녀가 또 수태하여 딸을 낳으니 하나님께서 그에게 이르시되, 그녀의 이름을 로루하마라 하라. 내가 다시는 이스라엘의 집에 긍휼을 베풀지 아니하고 그들을 완전히 제거하리라. 6. ¶ And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
7. 그러나 내가 유다의 집에는 긍휼을 베풀고 {주} 그들의 하나님으로 말미암아 그들을 구원하며 활이나 칼이나 전쟁이나 말이나 기병으로 그들을 구원하지 아니하리라, 하시니라. 7. But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.
8. ¶ 이제 그녀가 로루하마를 젖 뗀 뒤에 수태하여 아들을 낳으니라. 8. ¶ Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.
9. 이에 하나님께서 이르시되, 그의 이름을 로암미라 하라. 너희는 내 백성이 아니요, 나는 너희 하나님이 되지 아니하리라. 9. Then said God, Call his name Lo-ammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.
10. ¶ 그러할지라도 이스라엘 자손의 수가 바다의 모래 같아서 헤아릴 수도 없고 셀 수도 없으리니 전에 그들에게 이르기를, 너희는 내 백성이 아니라, 한 그곳에서 곧 거기에서 그들에게 이르기를, 너희는 살아 계신 하나님의 아들들이라, 하리라. 10. ¶ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
11. 그때에 유다 자손과 이스라엘 자손이 함께 모여 자기들을 위해 한 머리를 정하고 그 땅에서부터 올라오리니 이는 예스르엘의 날이 클 것이기 때문이라. 11. Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
1. 너희 형제들에게는 너희가 암미라 하고 너희 자매들에게는 루하마라 하라. 1. Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ru-hamah.
2. 너희 어머니와 변론하고 변론하라. 그녀는 내 아내가 아니요, 나도 그녀의 남편이 아니니라. 그런즉 그녀가 자기 눈앞에서 행음을 버리게 하고 자기 젖가슴 사이에서 간음을 버리게 할지니라. 2. Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
3. 그리하지 아니하면 내가 그녀를 벌거벗기고 그녀가 태어나던 날에 했던 것 같이 그녀를 볼거리로 세우며 또 그녀를 광야같이 되게 하고 마른 땅같이 되게 하여 목마름으로 그녀를 죽이리라. 3. Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
4. 또 내가 그녀의 자식들에게 긍휼을 베풀지 아니하리니 그들은 행음으로 인한 자식들이니라. 4. And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.
5. 그들의 어머니는 창녀 짓을 행하였고 그들을 수태한 여인은 수치스럽게 행하였느니라. 그녀가 이르기를, 내게 내 빵과 내 물과 내 양털과 내 아마와 내 기름과 내 마실 것을 주는 나의 사랑하는 자들을 내가 따라가리라, 하였도다. 5. For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.
6. ¶ 그러므로, 보라, 내가 가시로 네 길에 울타리를 치며 벽을 쌓아 그녀가 행로들을 찾지 못하게 하리니 6. ¶ Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.
7. 그녀가 자기의 사랑하는 자들을 쫓아갈지라도 따라잡지 못하며 그들을 찾을지라도 만나지 못하리라. 그때에야 그녀가 이르기를, 내가 가서 내 첫 남편에게 돌아가리니 그때가 지금보다 내게 더 나았도다, 하리라. 7. And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
8. 내가 그녀에게 곡식과 포도즙과 기름을 주었고 또 그녀의 은과 금 곧 그들이 바알을 위하여 예비한 그것들도 내가 많이 더해 주었음을 그녀가 알지 못하였도다. 8. For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
9. 그러므로 내가 돌아가서 내 곡식이 나는 때에 그 곡식을, 내 포도즙이 나는 철에 그 포도즙을 제거하며 그녀의 벌거벗은 것을 가리기 위해 준 내 양털과 내 아마를 회수하리라. 9. Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.
10. 이제 그녀가 사랑하는 자들의 눈앞에서 내가 그녀의 음탕함을 드러내리니 아무도 내 손에서 그녀를 건져 내지 못하리라. 10. And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.
11. 내가 또한 그녀의 모든 희락과 명절날과 월삭과 안식일과 모든 엄숙한 명절이 그치게 하며 11. I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
12. 그녀가 전에 자기의 포도나무와 무화과나무를 가리켜 말하기를, 이것들은 나의 사랑하는 자들이 내게 준 내 보상이라, 하였거니와 내가 그것들을 멸하고 수풀이 되게 하며 들의 짐승들이 그것들을 먹게 하리라. 12. And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
13. 그녀가 바알들을 섬긴 날수대로 내가 그녀에게 징벌하리니 그때에 그녀가 그것들에게 분향하고 귀고리와 보석으로 자기를 치장하며 자기의 사랑하는 자들을 따라가고 나를 잊었도다. {주}가 말하노라. 13. And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the LORD.
14. ¶ 그러므로, 보라, 내가 그녀를 끌어당겨 광야로 데리고 가서 그녀에게 위로하는 말로 이르고 14. ¶ Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.
15. 또 그때부터 그녀의 포도원을 그녀에게 주며 아골 골짜기를 소망의 문으로 주리니 그녀가 어렸을 때와 이집트 땅에서 올라오던 날에 하던 것 같이 거기서 노래하리라. 15. And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
16. {주}가 말하노라. 그 날에는 네가 나를 이쉬라 부르며 다시는 바알리라 부르지 아니하리니 16. And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.
17. 이는 내가 그녀의 입에서 바알들의 이름을 제거할 터인즉 그것들이 다시는 그것들의 이름으로 기억되지 아니할 것이기 때문이라. 17. For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
18. 그 날에는 내가 그들을 위하여 들의 짐승들과 하늘의 날짐승들과 땅의 기어 다니는 것들과 언약을 맺으며 또 그 땅에서 활과 칼을 꺾고 전쟁을 중단시켜 그들이 안전히 눕게 하리라. 18. And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
19. 또 내가 영원토록 너를 나와 정혼하게 하리니 참으로 내가 의와 판단의 공의와 인자함과 긍휼로 너를 나와 정혼하게 하며 19. And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.
20. 신실함으로 너를 나와 정혼하게 하리니 네가 {주}를 알리라. 20. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
21. 그 날에는 내가 들으리라. {주}가 말하노라. 나는 하늘들의 말을 듣고 그것들은 땅의 말을 들으며 21. And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
22. 땅은 곡식과 포도즙과 기름의 말을 듣고 그것들은 예스르엘의 말을 들으리라. 22. And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.
23. 내가 그녀를 땅에서 내게로 심고 긍휼을 얻지 못하였던 그녀에게 긍휼을 베풀며 내 백성이 아니던 자들에게 이르기를, 너는 내 백성이라, 하고 그들은 이르기를, 주는 나의 하나님이시니이다, 하리라. 23. And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
1. 그때에 {주}께서 내게 이르시되, 다른 신들을 바라보고 포도주 병을 사랑하는 이스라엘 자손을 향한 {주}의 사랑에 따라 또 가서 자기 친구에게 사랑받는 여인 그러나 간음한 여인을 사랑하라, 하시니라. 1. Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
2. 이에 내가 은 열다섯 개와 보리 일 호멜과 보리 반 호멜로 나를 위해 그녀를 사고 2. So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:
3. 그녀에게 이르기를, 너는 많은 날 동안 나를 위해 거하고 창녀 짓을 행하지 말며 다른 남자를 위하지 말라. 그처럼 나도 너를 위하리라, 하였으니 3. And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.
4. 이는 이스라엘 자손이 많은 날 동안 왕도 없고 통치자도 없고 희생물도 없고 형상도 없고 에봇도 없고 드라빔도 없이 거하다가 4. For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
5. 그 뒤에 이스라엘 자손이 돌아와 {주} 자기들의 하나님과 자기들의 왕 다윗을 찾고 마지막 날들에 {주}와 그분의 선하심을 두려워할 것이기 때문이라. 5. Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
1. 이스라엘 자손들아, 너희는 {주}의 말씀을 들으라. 그 땅에 진리도 없고 긍휼도 없고 하나님을 아는 지식도 없으므로 {주}께서 그 땅의 거주민들과 논쟁하시느니라. 1. Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2. 그들이 맹세하고 거짓말하며 살인하고 도둑질하며 간음을 행함으로 터져서 피와 피가 닿는도다. 2. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3. 그러므로 그 땅이 애곡하며 그 안에 거하는 모든 사람이 들의 짐승들과 하늘의 날짐승들과 더불어 쇠약할 것이요, 참으로 바다의 물고기들도 없어지리라. 3. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
4. 그러나 아무도 다투지 말며 남을 책망하지 말라. 이는 네 백성이 제사장과 다투는 자들같이 되었기 때문이라. 4. Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
5. 그러므로 너는 낮에 넘어지고 또 대언자는 밤에 너와 함께 넘어지며 또 내가 네 어머니를 멸하리라. 5. Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
6. ¶ 내 백성이 지식이 부족하므로 망하는도다. 네가 지식을 거부하였으므로 나도 너를 거부하여 네가 나를 위해 제사장이 되지 못하게 할 것이요, 네가 네 하나님의 율법을 잊었은즉 나도 네 자녀들을 잊으리라. 6. ¶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
7. 그들이 불어날수록 내게 죄를 지었은즉 내가 그들의 영광을 수치로 바꾸리라. 7. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
8. 그들이 내 백성의 죄를 먹고 자기 마음을 자기 불법에 두나니 8. They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
9. 그 백성에 그 제사장이 되리라. 내가 그들의 길들로 인하여 그들을 벌하며 그들의 행위들대로 그들에게 보응하리라. 9. And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
10. 그들이 {주}에게 주의를 기울이는 일에서 떠났으므로 먹어도 족하지 아니하고 행음해도 늘지 아니하리라. 10. For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
11. 행음과 포도주와 새 포도즙이 마음을 빼앗아 가느니라. 11. Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
12. ¶ 내 백성이 자기들의 나무토막에게 조언을 구하고 그들의 막대기가 그들에게 밝히 말하나니 이는 행음의 영이 그들로 하여금 잘못을 범하게 하므로 그들이 자기들의 하나님 밑에서 떠나 음행의 길로 갔기 때문이니라. 12. ¶ My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
13. 그들이 산꼭대기에서 희생물을 드리며 작은 산 위에서 분향하되 상수리나무와 포플러나무와 느릅나무 밑에서 하나니 이는 그것들의 그늘이 좋기 때문이라. 그러므로 너희 딸들은 행음하며 너희 배우자들은 간음하리로다. 13. They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
14. 너희 딸들이 행음하며 너희 배우자들이 간음해도 내가 그들을 벌하지 아니하리니 그들은 스스로 분리하여 음녀들과 함께하며 창녀들과 함께 희생물을 드리느니라. 그러므로 깨닫지 못하는 백성은 넘어지리라. 14. I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
15. ¶ 비록 너 이스라엘이 창녀 짓을 행하여도 유다는 죄를 범하지 말지니라. 너희는 길갈로 가지도 말고 벧아웬으로 올라가지도 말며 또, {주}께서 살아 계신다, 하고 맹세하지도 말라. 15. ¶ Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.
16. 이스라엘이 뒤로 물러서는 암송아지같이 뒤로 물러서므로 이제 {주}가 넓은 곳에서 어린양을 먹이는 것 같이 그들을 먹이리라. 16. For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
17. 에브라임은 우상들과 연합하였으니 그를 내버려 둘지니라. 17. Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
18. 그들의 마시는 것이 시게 되었느니라. 그들이 계속해서 행음하며 그녀의 치리자들은 수치스럽게도, 너희는 돈을 내라, 하고 말하기를 좋아하는도다. 18. Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
19. 바람이 이미 자기 날개로 그녀를 싸매었은즉 그들이 자기들의 희생물로 인하여 부끄러움을 당하리라. 19. The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
1. 오 제사장들아, 너희는 이것을 들으라. 이스라엘의 집아, 너희는 귀를 기울이라. 오 왕의 집아, 너희는 귀를 기울이라. 너희가 미스바 위에 놓은 올무가 되며 다볼 위에 친 그물이 되었으므로 심판이 너희를 향하였도다. 1. Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2. 내가 반역하는 자들을 다 책망하였음에도 불구하고 그들이 살육하는 일에 깊이 개입하였도다. 2. And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
3. 에브라임은 내가 알고 이스라엘은 나를 떠나 숨지 못하나니, 오 에브라임아, 이제 너는 행음하며 이스라엘은 더러워졌느니라. 3. I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
4. 그들이 자기들의 하나님께로 돌아서려고 자기들의 행위들을 바로 세우려 하지 아니하리니 이는 행음의 영이 그들의 한가운데 있어서 그들이 {주}를 알지 못하였기 때문이니라. 4. They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
5. 이스라엘의 교만이 자기 얼굴을 향해 증언하나니 그러므로 이스라엘과 에브라임이 자기들의 불법 가운데서 넘어지고 유다도 그들과 함께 넘어지리라. 5. And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.
6. 그들이 자기들의 양 떼와 소 떼를 끌고 가서 {주}를 찾을지라도 그를 만나지 못하리니 그는 스스로 물러나 그들을 떠났느니라. 6. They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7. 그들이 {주}를 대적하며 배신하였도다. 그들이 낯선 자녀들을 낳았으니 이제 한 달이 그들과 그들의 몫을 삼키리라. 7. They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
8. 너희는 기브아에서 코넷을 불고 라마에서 나팔을 불며 벧아웬에서 크게 외쳐 이르기를, 오 베냐민아, 너를 쫓아온다, 하라. 8. Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Beth-aven, after thee, O Benjamin.
9. 책망하는 날에 에브라임이 황폐하게 되리니 내가 이스라엘 지파들 가운데서 반드시 있을 일을 알렸노라. 9. Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
10. 유다의 통치자들은 경계를 옮기는 자들 같은즉 내가 내 진노를 그들 위에 물같이 부으리라. 10. The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11. 에브라임은 자원하여 명령을 따라 걸었으므로 학대를 당하고 심판 중에 부서졌도다. 11. Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
12. 그러므로 내가 에브라임에게는 좀같이 되며 유다의 집에게는 썩은 것같이 되리로다. 12. Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
13. 에브라임이 자기의 병을 보며 유다가 자기의 상처를 보더니 에브라임은 아시리아 사람에게로 갔고 야렙 왕에게 사람을 보내었으나 그가 능히 너희를 고치지 못하고 너희 상처를 치료하지 못하리라. 13. When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
14. 내가 에브라임에게는 사자같이 되고 유다의 집에게는 젊은 사자같이 되어 나 곧 내가 찢고 떠나가리라. 내가 제거하리니 아무도 그를 구출하지 못하리라. 14. For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
15. ¶ 그들이 자기들의 범죄를 인정하고 내 얼굴을 구할 때까지 내가 가서 내 처소로 돌아가리라. 그들이 자기들의 고난 중에서 나를 일찍 찾으리라. 15. ¶ I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
1. 오라, 우리가 {주}께로 돌아가자. 그분께서 우리를 찢으셨으나 우리를 낫게 하시리라. 그분께서 우리를 치셨으나 우리를 싸매어 주시리라. 1. Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2. 이틀 뒤에 그분께서 우리를 되살리시며 셋째 날에 우리를 일으키시리니 우리가 그분의 눈앞에서 살리로다. 2. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
3. 우리가 계속해서 {주}를 알고자 하면 그때에 우리가 알리라. 그분의 나아오심은 아침같이 예비되어 있으며 그분께서는 비같이 곧 땅에 내리는 늦은 비와 이른 비같이 우리에게 임하시리라. 3. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
4. ¶ 오 에브라임아, 내가 네게 어떻게 하랴? 오 유다야, 내가 네게 어떻게 하랴? 너희의 선함은 아침 구름 같고 사라지는 새벽이슬 같나니 4. ¶ O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.
5. 그러므로 내가 대언자들로 그들을 넘어뜨리고 내 입의 말들로 그들을 죽였노라. 너에 대한 심판은 앞으로 나아가는 빛 같으니라. 5. Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
6. 나는 긍휼을 원하고 희생물을 원치 아니하며 번제 헌물보다 하나님 아는 것을 더 원하였으나 6. For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
7. 그들은 사람들같이 언약을 어기며 거기서 나를 대적하고 배신하였도다. 7. But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
8. 길르앗은 불법을 행하는 자들의 도시로서 피로 더럽게 되었도다. 8. Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
9. 강도떼가 사람을 기다리는 것 같이 제사장들의 무리가 동의하여 길에서 살인을 행하나니 그들은 음탕한 짓을 행하는도다. 9. And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
10. 내가 이스라엘의 집에서 끔찍한 일을 보았는데 거기에 에브라임의 행음이 있으며 이스라엘이 더럽혀졌느니라. 10. I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
11. 또한, 오 유다야, 내가 내 백성의 포로 된 것을 돌이킬 때에 그가 너를 위해 수확할 것을 정하였느니라. 11. Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
1. 내가 이스라엘을 치료하고자 할 때에 에브라임의 불법과 사마리아의 사악함이 드러났도다. 그들은 거짓을 행하며 도둑은 안으로 들어가고 강도떼는 밖에서 노략하는도다. 1. When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.
2. 내가 그들의 모든 사악함을 기억하고 있음을 그들이 마음속으로 깊이 생각하지 아니하는도다. 이제 그들의 행위들이 그들을 에워쌌으며 그것들이 내 얼굴 앞에 있도다. 2. And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.
3. 그들은 자기들의 사악함으로 왕을 즐겁게 하고 자기들의 거짓말로 통치자들을 즐겁게 하는도다. 3. They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
4. 그들은 다 간음하는 자들로서 빵 굽는 자가 달군 화덕 같으니라. 그는 반죽을 만든 뒤에 그것이 발효되기 전에 부풀리기를 멈추느니라. 4. They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.
5. 우리 왕의 날에 통치자들은 그를 포도주 부대로 병들게 하였으며 그는 비웃는 자들과 함께 손을 내밀었도다. 5. In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.
6. 그들은 숨어서 기다릴 때에 자기들의 마음을 화덕과 같이 예비하였도다. 그들의 빵 굽는 자가 밤새 자다가 아침에 불꽃같이 그것에 불을 붙이매 6. For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
7. 그들이 다 화덕같이 뜨거워져서 자기들의 재판관들을 삼켰으며 자기들의 모든 왕들을 쓰러지게 하였도다. 그들 가운데는 나를 부르는 자가 하나도 없도다. 7. They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.
8. 에브라임 곧 그가 백성들 가운데서 자신을 섞었으니 에브라임은 뒤집지 않은 납작한 빵이로다. 8. Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
9. 타국인들이 그의 기력을 삼켰으나 그는 그것을 알지 못하는도다. 참으로 흰머리가 그에게 여기저기 생겨도 그가 알지 못하는도다. 9. Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.
10. 이스라엘의 교만이 그의 얼굴을 향해 증언하되 그들이 이 모든 일에도 불구하고 {주} 자기들의 하나님께로 돌아오지 아니하며 그분을 찾지도 아니하는도다. 10. And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.
11. ¶ 또한 에브라임은 심장이 없는 어리석은 비둘기 같아서 그들이 이집트를 부르며 아시리아로 가는도다. 11. ¶ Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
12. 그들이 갈 때에 내가 내 그물을 그들 위에 쳐서 하늘의 날짐승같이 그들을 떨어뜨리고 그들의 회중이 들은 대로 그들을 징계하리라. 12. When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.
13. 그들이 나를 버리고 도망하였은즉 그들에게 화가 있을지어다! 그들이 내게 범법하였은즉 그들에게 파멸이 있을지어다! 내가 그들을 구속하였을지라도 그들이 나를 대적하여 거짓말을 하고 13. Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
14. 침상에서 울부짖을 때에도 자기 마음을 다하여 내게 부르짖지 아니하였으니 그들은 곡식과 포도즙을 위해 모이고 나를 거역하는도다. 14. And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.
15. 내가 그들의 팔을 싸매어 강하게 하였을지라도 그들이 해악을 꾀하여 나를 대적하는도다. 15. Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
16. 그들이 돌아오나 지극히 높은 이에게 돌아오지 아니하니 그들은 속이는 활 같도다. 그들의 통치자들은 자기들의 혀를 날뛰게 하였으므로 칼에 쓰러지리니 이것이 이집트 땅에서 그들에 대한 조롱거리가 되리라. 16. They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
1. 나팔을 네 입에 댈지어다. 그가 독수리같이 {주}의 집을 치려고 임하리니 이는 그들이 내 언약을 어기고 내 율법을 범하였기 때문이라. 1. Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2. 이스라엘이 내게 부르짖기를, 내 하나님이여, 우리가 주를 아나이다, 하리라. 2. Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
3. 이스라엘이 이미 선한 것을 내버렸으니 원수가 그를 추격하리라. 3. Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4. 그들이 왕들을 세웠으나 나를 통해 하지 아니하였으며 그들이 통치자들을 세웠으나 내가 그것을 알지 못하였느니라. 그들이 자기를 끊어 버리려고 자기의 은과 금으로 자기를 위해 우상들을 만들었도다. 4. They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5. ¶ 오 사마리아야, 네 송아지가 너를 내버렸느니라. 내 분노가 그들을 향해 타올랐거니와 그들이 무죄함에 이르려면 얼마나 있어야 하겠느냐? 5. ¶ Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
6. 이스라엘로부터 또한 그것이 나왔도다. 기술자가 그것을 만들었은즉 그것은 하나님이 아니니라. 오직 사마리아의 송아지가 산산조각 나리니 6. For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7. 그들이 바람을 심었은즉 회오리바람을 거두리라. 그것이 줄기가 없은즉 싹이 양식을 내지 못할 것이요, 혹시 낸다 할지라도 타국인들이 그것을 삼키리라. 7. For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8. 이스라엘이 삼켜졌은즉 이제 그들이 이방인들 가운데서 기쁨을 담지 않은 그릇같이 되리니 8. Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
9. 이는 그들이 아시리아로 올라가서 자기 홀로 거하는 들나귀가 되었기 때문이라. 에브라임이 사랑하는 자들을 고용하였도다. 9. For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10. 참으로 그들이 민족들 가운데서 고용하였을지라도 이제 내가 그들을 모으리니 그들이 통치자들의 왕이 지워 준 짐으로 인하여 잠시 슬퍼하리라. 10. Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
11. 에브라임이 죄를 지으려고 많은 제단을 만들었으므로 제단들이 그에게 죄짓게 하는 것이 되리라. 11. Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
12. 내가 그를 위하여 내 율법의 위대한 것들을 기록하였으나 그들은 그것들을 낯선 것으로 여겼도다. 12. I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
13. 그들이 내 헌물의 희생물로 고기를 드리고 그것을 먹을지라도 {주}는 그것들을 받지 아니하고 이제 그들의 불법을 기억하며 그들의 죄들을 벌하리니 그들이 이집트로 돌아가리라. 13. They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14. 이스라엘은 자기를 [만드신 이]를 잊어버리고 신전들을 지으며 유다는 성벽을 두른 도시들을 많이 늘렸으나 내가 그의 도시들에 불을 보내어 그것이 거기의 궁궐들을 삼키게 하리라. 14. For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
1. 오 이스라엘아, 다른 백성같이 기쁨으로 인해 기뻐하지 말라. 네가 네 하나님을 떠나 음행의 길로 갔으며 모든 곡식 마당에서 음행의 대가를 사랑하였느니라. 1. Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.
2. 타작마당과 포도즙 틀이 그들을 먹이지 못하고 그녀에게 새 포도즙이 떨어지리라. 2. The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.
3. 그들은 {주}의 땅에 거하지 못하고 에브라임은 이집트로 돌아가며 그들이 아시리아에서 부정한 것들을 먹으리라. 3. They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
4. 그들이 {주}께 포도즙 헌물을 드리지 못하며 그분을 기쁘게 하지도 못하리라. 그들의 희생물이 그들에게는 애곡하는 자들의 빵과 같아서 그것을 먹는 모든 자들이 더러워지리니 이는 그들의 혼을 위한 그들의 빵이 {주}의 집으로 들어오지 못할 것이기 때문이니라. 4. They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
5. 너희가 엄숙한 날과 {주}의 명절에 무엇을 하겠느냐? 5. What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
6. 보라, 그들이 멸망으로 인해 떠나갔도다. 이집트가 그들을 모으고 멤피스가 그들을 묻으리니 그들의 은을 두는 좋은 장소는 쐐기풀이 차지할 것이요, 그들의 장막들 안에는 가시나무가 있으리라. 6. For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
7. 징벌하는 날들이 이르렀고 보응하는 날들이 이르렀은즉 이스라엘은 그것을 알지니라. 네 불법이 많고 미워함이 크므로 대언자는 어리석은 자가 되고 영적인 사람은 미치게 되었느니라. 7. The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
8. 에브라임의 파수꾼이 내 하나님과 함께하였으나 대언자가 그의 모든 길에서 새 사냥꾼의 올무가 되었으며 그의 하나님의 집에서 미운 것이 되었도다. 8. The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
9. 그들이 기브아의 시대에서와 같이 자신을 심히 부패시켰으니 그러므로 그분께서 그들의 불법을 기억하고 그들의 죄들을 벌하시리라. 9. They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
10. 내가 광야에서 포도를 만나는 것 같이 이스라엘을 만났으며 무화과나무에서 처음 맺힐 때의 처음 익은 열매를 보는 것 같이 너희 조상들을 보았으되 그들이 바알브올에게로 가서 자신을 분리하여 그 수치스러운 것에 이르렀으니 그들의 가증한 일은 그들이 사랑한 그대로니라. 10. I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baal-peor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.
11. 에브라임으로 말하건대 그들의 영광이 태어날 때부터, 태에 있을 때부터, 수태할 때부터 새같이 날아가리라. 11. As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
12. 그들이 비록 자녀들을 기를지라도 내가 그들을 앗아가서 한 사람도 남기지 아니하리라. 참으로 내가 그들을 떠나는 때에는 그들에게 또한 화가 있으리로다! 12. Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
13. 내가 두로를 보았듯이 에브라임은 좋은 곳에 심겼도다. 그러나 에브라임은 자기 자녀들을 낳아 살인하는 자에게 내주리로다. 13. Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
14. 오 {주}여, 그들에게 주소서. 주께서 무엇을 주시겠나이까? 그들에게 유산하는 태와 마른 젖가슴을 주시옵소서. 14. Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15. 그들의 모든 사악함은 길갈에 있도다. 거기서 내가 그들을 미워하였노라. 그들의 행위들이 사악하므로 내가 그들을 내 집에서 쫓아내고 다시는 그들을 사랑하지 아니하리라. 그들의 모든 통치자들은 반역하는 자들이니라. 15. All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
16. 에브라임은 얻어맞고 뿌리가 말라 열매를 맺지 못하리니 참으로 그들이 낳을지라도 내가 그들의 태에서 나온 그 사랑하는 열매를 죽이리라. 16. Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.
17. 그들이 내 하나님께 귀를 기울이지 아니하였으므로 그분께서 그들을 내버리시리니 그들이 민족들 가운데서 떠도는 자가 되리라. 17. My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
1. 이스라엘은 텅 빈 포도나무요, 자기를 위해 열매를 맺는 나무로다. 자기 열매가 많은 대로 그가 제단들을 늘렸으며 자기 땅이 좋은 대로 그들이 좋은 형상들을 만들었도다. 1. Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
2. 그들의 마음이 나뉘었으니 이제 그들이 잘못한 자로 드러나리라. 그분께서 그들의 제단들을 파괴하시고 그들의 형상들을 못 쓰게 하시리니 2. Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.
3. 이제 그들이 이르기를, 우리가 {주}를 두려워하지 아니하였으므로 우리에게 왕이 없도다. 그런즉 왕이 우리에게 무엇을 하리요? 하리라. 3. For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?
4. 그들이 언약을 맺을 때에 거짓으로 맹세하며 말들을 하였으니 이와 같이 심판이 밭고랑의 독초같이 일어나는도다. 4. They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.
5. 사마리아의 거주민들이 벧아웬의 송아지들로 인하여 두려워하리니 이는 거기의 영광이 그것을 떠났으므로 거기의 백성이 그것을 두고 애곡하며 그것을 기뻐하던 거기의 제사장들도 그리할 것이기 때문이라. 5. The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Beth-aven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.
6. 그것도 아시리아로 옮겨져서 야렙 왕을 위한 예물이 되리니 에브라임은 수치를 받고 이스라엘은 자기 계획을 부끄러워하리로다. 6. It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
7. 사마리아로 말하건대 그녀의 왕이 물 위의 거품같이 끊어졌도다. 7. As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.
8. 또한 이스라엘의 죄 곧 아벤의 산당들은 파괴될 것이요, 그것들의 제단들 위에 가시와 엉겅퀴가 나서 그들이 산들에게 이르기를, 우리를 덮으라, 하며 작은 산들에게 이르기를, 우리 위에 무너지라, 하리라. 8. The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.
9. 오 이스라엘아, 네가 기브아의 시대로부터 죄를 지었도다. 그들이 거기에 서 있었는데 불법의 자손들을 치려고 일어난 기브아에서의 전쟁이 그들을 따라잡지 못하였느니라. 9. O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.
10. 내가 원하는 바는 그들을 징계하는 것이라. 그들이 자기들의 두 밭고랑에서 자기들을 묶을 때에 백성이 모여서 그들을 치리라. 10. It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.
11. 에브라임은 마치 가르침을 받은 암송아지 같아서 곡식 밟기를 좋아하나 내가 그녀의 아름다운 목 위로 넘어갔도다. 이제 내가 에브라임이 타게 하리니 유다는 밭을 갈고 야곱은 자기의 흙덩어리를 부수리라. 11. And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loveth to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.
12. 너희 자신을 위하여 의 안에서 심고 긍휼 안에서 거두며 너희의 묵은 땅을 부수라. 지금은 곧 {주}를 찾을 때니 마침내 그분께서 오셔서 의를 비같이 너희에게 내리시리라. 12. Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
13. 너희가 사악함을 경작하여 불법을 거두고 거짓의 열매를 먹었으니 이는 네가 네 길을 신뢰하고 네 용사들이 많음을 신뢰하였기 때문이라. 13. Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.
14. 그러므로 네 백성 가운데서 소동이 일어나며 네 모든 요새가 노략을 당하되 곧 살만이 전쟁의 날에 벧아벨을 노략한 것 같으리라. 그때에 어머니가 자기 자식들 위에서 산산조각 났느니라. 14. Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.
15. 너희의 사악함이 크므로 벧엘이 이와 같이 너희에게 행하리니 이스라엘 왕이 하루 아침에 완전히 끊어지리라. 15. So shall Beth-el do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.
1. 이스라엘이 아이였을 때에 내가 그를 사랑하였고 내 아들을 이집트에서 불러내었노라. 1. When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2. 내 종들이 그들을 부를수록 그들이 저들을 떠나가서 바알들에게 희생물을 드리고 새긴 형상들에게 분향하였느니라. 2. As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
3. 내가 또한 에브라임의 팔을 잡고 그들에게 길 가는 것을 가르쳤으나 그들은 내가 자기들을 고친 줄을 알지 못하였느니라. 3. I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4. 내가 사람의 줄 곧 사랑의 띠로 그들을 이끌었나니 곧 그들에게 내가 그들의 턱에서 멍에를 벗기는 자들 같았으며 또 내가 그들을 위해 먹을 것을 두었노라. 4. I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
5. ¶ 그가 이집트 땅으로 돌아가지 못하고 그 아시리아 사람이 그의 왕이 되리니 이는 그들이 돌아오기를 거부하였기 때문이라. 5. ¶ He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
6. 그들의 계략으로 인해 칼이 그의 도시들에 머무르며 그의 가지들을 소멸시키고 그들을 삼키리라. 6. And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.
7. 내 백성이 나를 떠나 뒤로 물러나기로 작심하였으므로 내 종들이 그들을 [지극히 높으신 이]에게로 불렀을지라도 아무도 전혀 그분을 높이려 하지 아니하는도다. 7. And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
8. 에브라임아, 내가 어찌 너를 내주겠느냐? 이스라엘아, 내가 어찌 너를 넘겨주겠느냐? 내가 어찌 너를 아드마같이 만들겠느냐? 내가 어찌 너를 스보임같이 두겠느냐? 내 마음이 내 속에서 돌아서매 내가 뜻을 돌이키는 것이 한꺼번에 불같이 타오르는도다. 8. How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
9. 내가 내 맹렬한 분노를 집행하지 아니하며 돌아와서 에브라임을 멸하지 아니하리니 나는 하나님이요, 사람이 아니니라. 나는 네 한가운데 있는 거룩한 자니 내가 그 도시로 들어가지 아니하리라. 9. I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
10. 그들이 {주}를 따라 걸으리니 그가 사자같이 소리를 내리라. 그가 울부짖으면 그 자손들이 떨면서 서쪽에서부터 나올 것이요, 10. They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
11. 그들이 이집트에서 나와 새같이 떨며 아시리아 땅에서 나와 비둘기같이 떨리니 내가 그들을 그들의 집에 두리라. {주}가 말하노라. 11. They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
12. 에브라임은 거짓으로, 이스라엘의 집은 속임수로 나를 에워싸되 유다는 여전히 하나님과 함께 다스리며 성도들과 함께 신실하도다. 12. Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
1. 에브라임이 바람을 먹으며 동풍을 따라가서 날마다 거짓과 황폐함을 늘리고 그들이 아시리아 사람들과 언약을 맺으며 기름을 이집트에 실어 보내는도다. 1. Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
2. {주}께서 또한 유다와 논쟁하셨고 야곱을 그의 길들대로 벌하시며 그의 행위들대로 그에게 보응하시리라. 2. The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
3. ¶ 그가 태에서 자기 형의 발뒤꿈치를 붙잡고 또 자기 힘으로 하나님과 힘을 겨루되 3. ¶ He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
4. 참으로 그가 천사와 힘을 겨루어 이기고 울며 그분께 간구하였도다. 그가 벧엘에서 그분을 만났으며 거기서 그분께서 우리에게 말씀하셨으니 4. Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Beth-el, and there he spake with us;
5. 곧 {주} 만군의 하나님이시로다. {주}는 그분을 기억하게 하는 이름이니라. 5. Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
6. 그러므로 너는 네 하나님께로 돌이켜서 긍휼과 판단의 공의를 지키며 계속해서 네 하나님을 바랄지니라. 6. Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
7. ¶ 그는 상인이요, 그의 손에는 속이는 저울이 있도다. 그는 학대하기를 좋아하는도다. 7. ¶ He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
8. 에브라임이 말하기를, 그럼에도 나는 부자가 되었도다. 내가 나를 위해 재물을 얻었은즉 그들이 내가 수고한 모든 것 중에서 죄가 된 불법 곧 내 안에 있는 불법을 전혀 찾지 못하리라, 하였도다. 8. And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
9. 이집트 땅에서부터 {주} 네 하나님인 내가 엄숙한 명절의 날들에 하던 것 같이 너로 하여금 장막들에 거하게 하리라. 9. And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10. 내가 또한 대언자들을 통하여 말하고 대언자들의 사역을 통하여 환상들을 많이 늘리며 또 비유를 사용하였노라. 10. I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
11. 길르앗에 불법이 있느냐? 분명히 그들은 헛된 자들이로다. 그들이 길갈에서 수소로 희생물을 드리나니 참으로 그들의 제단들은 밭고랑에 쌓인 돌무더기 같도다. 11. Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
12. 야곱이 시리아 지방으로 도망하며 이스라엘이 한 아내를 얻기 위해 섬기고 한 아내를 얻기 위해 양들을 지켰느니라. 12. And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
13. {주}께서 한 대언자를 통해 이스라엘을 이집트에서 데리고 나오시매 그가 한 대언자를 통해 보존되었거늘 13. And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
14. 에브라임이 극심하게 그분의 분노를 일으켰으므로 그분께서 그의 피를 그의 위에 남겨 두시며 그의 [주]께서 그의 수치를 그에게 돌리시리라. 14. Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
1. 에브라임이 떨면서 말할 때에는 이스라엘에서 자기를 높였으나 그가 바알로 말미암아 죄를 지을 때에는 죽었느니라. 1. When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
2. 이제 그들이 더욱더 죄를 지어 자기들의 은으로 자기들을 위하여 형상들을 부어 만들되 자기들이 깨달은 대로 우상들을 만들었는데 그 모든 것은 장인들의 작품이라. 그들이 그것들을 가리켜 말하기를, 희생물을 드리는 자들은 송아지들과 입을 맞출 것이라, 하는도다. 2. And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
3. 그러므로 그들은 아침 구름 같고 사라지는 새벽이슬 같으며 타작마당에서 회오리바람에 날리는 겨 같고 굴뚝에서 나는 연기 같으리라. 3. Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
4. 그러나 나는 이집트 땅에서부터 {주} 네 하나님이니라. 너는 나 외에 다른 신을 알지 말라. 나 외에는 구원자가 없느니라. 4. Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
5. ¶ 내가 광야 곧 심히 메마른 땅에서 너를 알았거늘 5. ¶ I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
6. 그들이 자기들의 초장이 내는 대로 배가 불렀고 배가 부르매 그들의 마음이 높아져서 그런 까닭에 그들이 나를 잊었느니라. 6. According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
7. 그러므로 내가 그들에게 사자같이 되고 길가의 표범같이 그들을 지켜보리라. 7. Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
8. 내가 새끼 잃은 곰같이 그들을 만나서 그들의 심장 꺼풀을 찢고 거기서 사자같이 그들을 삼키리니 들짐승이 그들을 찢으리라. 8. I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
9. ¶ 오 이스라엘아, 네가 네 자신을 파멸시켰거니와 네 도움은 내게 있느니라. 9. ¶ O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
10. 내가 네 왕이 되리라. 네 모든 도시에서 너를 구원할 다른 자가 어디 있느냐? 또 전에 네가 이르기를, 내게 왕과 통치자들을 주소서, 하더니 그 재판관들이 어디 있느냐? 10. I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
11. 내가 친히 분노하여 네게 왕을 주고 친히 진노하여 그를 폐하였도다. 11. I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
12. 내가 에브라임의 불법을 묶었은즉 그의 죄가 숨겨졌느니라. 12. The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
13. 해산하는 여인의 고통이 그에게 임하리니 그는 지혜가 없는 아들이니라. 그는 아이들을 쏟아 내는 곳에 오랫동안 머무르지 말아야 하느니라. 13. The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
14. 내가 그들을 무덤의 권세에서 속량하며 사망으로부터 구속하리니, 오 사망아, 내가 네 재앙이 되리라. 오 무덤아, 내가 네 파멸이 되리라. 뜻을 돌이키는 것이 내 눈을 떠나 숨으리로다. 14. I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
15. ¶ 그가 비록 자기 형제들 가운데서 열매를 맺을지라도 동풍이 오리니 곧 {주}의 바람이 광야에서 올라오매 그의 근원이 마르고 그의 샘이 말라 버리리라. 그가 모든 아름다운 그릇의 보물을 노략하리라. 15. ¶ Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
16. 사마리아가 자기 하나님을 반역하였으므로 황폐하게 되리라. 그들이 칼로 말미암아 넘어지리니 곧 그들의 어린 아기들은 산산조각 나며 아이를 밴 그들의 여인들은 배가 갈라지리로다. 16. Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
1. 오 이스라엘아, {주} 네 하나님께로 돌아오라. 네 불법으로 말미암아 네가 넘어졌느니라. 1. O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
2. 너희는 말씀들을 가지고 {주}께로 돌이키며 그분께 아뢰기를, 모든 불법을 제거하시고 은혜롭게 우리를 받아 주소서. 우리도 그와 같이 우리 입술의 송아지로 보답하리이다. 2. Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3. 앗수르가 우리를 구원하지 못하리이다. 우리가 말을 타지 아니하며 다시는 우리 손으로 만든 것에게 이르기를, 너희는 우리의 신이라, 하지 아니하리니 주 안에서 아버지 없는 자들이 긍휼을 얻나이다, 할지니라. 3. Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4. ¶ 내가 그들의 타락한 것을 고치며 그들을 아낌없이 사랑하리니 내 분노가 그에게서 떠났느니라. 4. ¶ I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
5. 내가 이스라엘에게 이슬과 같으리니 그가 백합같이 자라고 레바논같이 뿌리를 뻗으리라. 5. I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
6. 그의 가지는 퍼지고 그의 아름다움은 올리브나무 같으며 그의 향기는 레바논 같으리니 6. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
7. 그의 그늘 아래 거하는 자들이 돌아오리라. 그들은 곡식같이 되살아나며 포도나무같이 자라고 그것의 냄새는 레바논의 포도즙 같으리라. 7. They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
8. 에브라임이 말하기를, 내가 우상들과 더 무슨 상관이 있으리요? 하리라. 내가 그의 말을 듣고 그를 지켜보았노라. 나는 푸른 전나무 같으니 네가 내게서 네 열매를 얻으리로다. 8. Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
9. 누가 지혜가 있어서 이런 일들을 깨닫겠느냐? 누가 분별이 있어서 그것들을 알겠느냐? {주}의 길들은 올바르니 의인들은 그 길들 안에서 걸으려니와 범법자들은 그 길들 안에서 넘어지리라. 9. Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
