1. 유다 왕 요담과 아하스와 히스기야 시대에 모레셋 사람 미가에게 임한 {주}의 말씀 곧 그가 사마리아와 예루살렘에 관하여 본 말씀이라. 1. The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
2. 너희 모든 백성들아, 들을지어다. 오 땅과 그 안에 있는 모든 것들아, 귀를 기울일지어다. [주] {하나님} 곧 자신의 거룩한 전에서 나오시는 [주]께서 너희를 대적하는 증인이 되시리로다. 2. Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.
3. 보라, {주}께서 자신의 처소에서 나오시고 내려오사 땅의 높은 곳들을 밟으시리니 3. For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
4. 산들이 그분 밑에서 녹고 골짜기들이 갈라지되 불 앞의 밀초같이, 가파른 곳에 쏟아진 물들같이 그리되리라. 4. And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.
5. 이것은 다 야곱의 범법으로 인함이요, 이스라엘의 집의 죄들로 인함이라. 야곱의 범법이 무엇이냐? 사마리아가 아니냐? 유다의 산당들이 무엇이냐? 예루살렘이 아니냐? 5. For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
6. 그러므로 내가 사마리아를 들의 돌무더기 같게 하고 포도원을 세울 동산 같게 하며 또 그것의 돌들을 골짜기에 쏟아 붓고 그것의 기초들을 드러내리라. 6. Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.
7. 그것의 모든 새긴 형상이 두들겨 맞아 산산조각 나며 그것의 모든 품삯이 불타겠고 또 그것의 모든 우상을 내가 황폐하게 하리니 이는 그녀가 창녀의 품삯으로 그것을 모았기 때문이라. 그런즉 그것들이 창녀의 품삯으로 되돌아가리라. 7. And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.
8. 그러므로 내가 통곡하며 울부짖고 벌거벗은 채 벗은 몸으로 다니며 용들같이 통곡하고 올빼미들같이 애곡하리라. 8. Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.
9. 그녀의 상처는 고칠 수 없도다. 그것이 유다에까지 이르렀으며 그가 내 백성의 성문 곧 예루살렘에까지 이르렀도다. 9. For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
10. ¶ 너희는 그것을 가드에서 밝히 알리지 말며 결코 울지도 말고 아브라의 집에서 네 몸을 티끌에 굴릴지어다. 10. ¶ Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust.
11. 너 사빌의 거주민아, 네가 네 수치를 벌거벗겨 드러내었으니 너희는 사라질지어다. 사아난의 거주민은 벧에셀이 애곡하는 가운데 나아오지 못하였으니 그가 너희에게서 자기의 설 곳을 받으리라. 11. Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Beth-ezel; he shall receive of you his standing.
12. 마롯의 거주민이 염려하며 복을 기다렸으나 재앙이 {주}로부터 내려와 예루살렘 성문에 이르렀도다. 12. For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem.
13. 오 라기스의 거주민아, 너는 빠른 짐승에게 병거를 맬지어다. 라기스는 시온의 딸에게 죄의 시작이 되나니 이스라엘의 범법들이 네 안에서 발견되었느니라. 13. O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
14. 그러므로 네가 모레셋가드에게 예물들을 주리니 악십의 집들이 이스라엘의 왕들에게 거짓말이 되리라. 14. Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moresheth-gath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.
15. 오 마레사의 거주민아, 그러할지라도 내가 상속자를 네게로 데려오리니 그가 이스라엘의 영광인 아둘람에 이르리라. 15. Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.
16. 너는 네 아름다운 자녀들로 인하여 네 머리털을 짧게 깎아 대머리가 되게 할지어다. 네 대머리를 독수리같이 크게 할지어다. 그들이 너를 떠나 포로가 되어 갔느니라. 16. Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.
1. 자기 침상에서 불법을 꾀하며 악을 행하는 자들에게 화가 있을지어다! 그 일이 그들의 손의 권세 안에 있으므로 아침이 빛을 발하면 그들이 그 일을 실행하는도다. 1. Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
2. 그들이 밭들을 탐하여 폭력으로 그것들을 취하고 집들을 탐하여 그것들을 빼앗나니 이와 같이 그들이 사람과 그의 집을 억압하되 곧 사람과 그의 유산을 억압하는도다. 2. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
3. 그러므로 {주}가 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 이 가족을 치려고 한 재앙을 계획하노라. 그 재앙으로부터 너희가 너희 목을 움직이지 못하며 또한 거만하게 다니지 못하리니 이는 이때가 악하기 때문이니라. 3. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
4. ¶ 그 날에 사람이 비유를 지어 너희를 대적하며 매우 슬픈 애가로 애가를 지어 이르기를, 우리가 철저히 노략을 당하였도다. 그분께서 내 백성의 몫을 바꾸어 놓으셨도다. 그분께서 어찌 그리 그것을 옮기사 내게서 떠나게 하셨는가! 그분께서 돌이키사 우리의 밭을 나누셨도다. 4. ¶ In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.
5. 그러므로 {주}의 회중 가운데서 제비를 뽑아 줄을 던질 자가 네게 하나도 없으리라. 5. Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.
6. 그들이 대언하는 자들에게 이르기를, 너희는 대언하지 말라, 하나니 그들은 그들에게 대언하지 말며 이로써 수치를 당하지 말지니라. 6. Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
7. ¶ 오 너 야곱의 집이라는 이름을 가진 자야, {주}의 영이 제약을 받느냐? 이 일들이 그가 행한 바냐? 내 말들이 곧바르게 걷는 자에게 선을 베풀지 아니하느냐? 7. ¶ O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
8. 심지어 최근에는 내 백성이 원수처럼 일어났나니 너희가 전쟁을 미워하고 안전하게 지나가는 자들로부터 겉옷과 속옷을 벗기며 8. Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
9. 내 백성의 여인들을 그들의 즐거운 집에서 쫓아내고 그들의 자녀들에게서 내 영광을 영원히 빼앗아 갔도다. 9. The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
10. 이것은 너희가 안식할 곳이 아니니 너희는 일어나 떠날지어다. 그것이 더러워졌으므로 너희를 멸하되 극심한 멸망으로 그리하리라. 10. Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
11. 사람이 만일 영과 거짓 속에서 걸으며 거짓말하여 이르기를, 내가 포도주와 독주에 대해 네게 대언하리라, 할 것 같으면 그가 심지어 이 백성의 대언자가 되리로다. 11. If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.
12. ¶ 오 야곱아, 내가 반드시 네 모든 사람을 모으며 내가 반드시 이스라엘의 남은 자를 모으고 보스라의 양들같이, 그들의 우리 한가운데 있는 양 떼같이 그들을 함께 두리니 사람이 많으므로 그들이 큰 소리를 내리라. 12. ¶ I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.
13. 부수는 자가 그들 앞에 올라왔은즉 그들이 이미 부수어 열고 성문을 지나 그것의 곁으로 나갔으며 그들의 왕은 그들 앞에 가고 {주}는 그들의 선두에 서리라. 13. The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
1. 또 내가 말하였노라. 오 야곱의 우두머리들아, 이스라엘의 집 통치자들아, 청하건대 너희는 들을지어다. 너희가 판단의 공의를 알아야 하지 아니하겠느냐? 1. And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?
2. 너희가 선을 미워하고 악을 사랑하여 그들에게서 가죽을 벗겨 내고 그들의 뼈에서 살을 뜯어내며 2. Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
3. 또 내 백성의 살을 먹고 그들에게서 가죽을 벗겨 내나니 그들이 냄비와 솥에 담을 고기처럼 저들의 뼈들을 꺾어 조각조각 자르는도다. 3. Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
4. 그때에 그들이 {주}에게 부르짖을지라도 그가 그들의 말을 듣지 아니하고 그들이 자기들의 행위들로 스스로 악하게 행한 것 같이 그때에 그가 그들에게 심지어 자신의 얼굴을 숨기리라. 4. Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
5. ¶ 내 백성으로 하여금 잘못하게 하는 대언자들은 자기들의 이로 물면서도 외치기는, 평안하다, 하며 또 자기들의 입에 넣어 주지 아니하는 자를 향하여는 전쟁을 예비하거니와 이런 대언자들에 관하여 {주}가 이같이 말하노라. 5. ¶ Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
6. 그러므로 밤이 너희에게 이르리니 너희가 환상 계시를 갖지 못할 것이요, 그것이 너희에게 어둡게 되리니 이로써 너희가 점을 치지 못하리라. 그 대언자들 위로 해가 지므로 그들 위에서 낮이 어둡게 되리라. 6. Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
7. 그런즉 선견자들이 부끄러워하며 점치는 자들이 당황할 것이요, 참으로 그들이 다 자기 입술을 가리리니 이는 하나님의 응답이 없기 때문이라. 7. Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
8. ¶ 그러나 진실로 나는 {주}의 영으로 말미암아 권능과 판단의 공의와 능력으로 충만하여 야곱에게는 그의 범법을, 이스라엘에게는 그의 죄를 밝히 알리리라. 8. ¶ But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
9. 야곱의 집 우두머리들과 이스라엘의 집 통치자들 곧 판단의 공의를 몹시 싫어하고 모든 공평을 굽게 하는 자들아, 청하노니 너희는 이 말을 들을지어다. 9. Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.
10. 그들이 시온을 피로, 예루살렘을 불법으로 건축하는도다. 10. They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
11. 그것의 우두머리들은 대가를 바라고 재판하며 그것의 제사장들은 품삯을 바라고 가르치며 그것의 대언자들은 돈을 바라고 점을 치면서도 그들이 여전히 {주}를 의지하여 말하기를, {주}께서 우리 가운데 계시지 아니하냐? 어떤 재앙도 우리에게 임하지 못하리라, 하는도다. 11. The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
12. 그런즉 너희로 인하여 시온은 밭같이 쟁기로 갈리고 예루살렘은 돌무더기같이 되며 그 집의 산은 숲의 높은 곳과 같이 되리라. 12. Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
1. 그러나 마지막 날들에 {주}의 집의 산이 산들의 꼭대기에 굳게 세워지며 작은 산들 위로 높여지리니 백성들이 그곳으로 흘러들리라. 1. But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
2. 많은 민족들이 오며 이르기를, 오라. 우리가 {주}의 산에 오르고 야곱의 하나님의 집에 이르자. 그분께서 자신의 길들을 우리에게 가르치실 터인즉 우리가 그분의 행로들로 걸으리라, 하리니 이는 법이 시온에서 나아가며 {주}의 말씀이 예루살렘으로부터 나아갈 것이기 때문이라. 2. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
3. ¶ 그가 많은 백성들 가운데서 심판하며 멀리 있는 강한 민족들을 꾸짖으리니 그들이 자기들의 칼을 쳐서 보습을 만들고 자기들의 창을 쳐서 가지 치는 낫을 만들리라. 민족이 민족을 치려고 칼을 들지 아니하며 그들이 다시는 전쟁을 배우지 아니하고 3. ¶ And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4. 오직 각 사람이 자기의 포도나무와 무화과나무 밑에 앉으리라. 아무도 그들을 두렵게 하지 못하리니 만군의 {주}의 입이 그것을 말하였느니라. 4. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
5. 모든 백성들이 각각 자기 신의 이름으로 걷되 오직 우리는 {주} 우리 하나님의 이름으로 영원무궁토록 걸으리로다. 5. For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.
6. {주}가 말하노라. 그 날에는 내가 다리 저는 여자를 모으고 쫓겨난 여자를 모으며 또 내가 괴롭게 한 여자를 모아 6. In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;
7. 다리 절던 여자를 남은 자가 되게 하며 쫓겨난 여자를 강한 민족이 되게 하고 {주}가 이제부터 심지어 영원토록 시온 산에서 그들을 통치하리라. 7. And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.
8. ¶ 오 너 양 떼의 망대요, 시온의 딸의 강한 요새여, 심지어 처음의 통치 권세가 네게 이를 것이요, 왕국이 예루살렘의 딸에게 이르리로다. 8. ¶ And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.
9. 이제 네가 어찌하여 크게 부르짖느냐? 네 안에 왕이 없느냐? 네 조언자가 멸망하였느냐? 산고를 겪는 여인에게 임하는 것 같은 산통이 너를 엄습하였도다. 9. Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.
10. 오 시온의 딸아, 산고를 겪는 여인같이 고통을 당하며 낳으려고 수고할지어다. 이제 네가 그 도시에서 나아가 들에 거하고 또 심지어 바빌론에까지 가서 거기서 구출을 받으리니 거기서 {주}가 너를 네 원수들의 손에서 구속하리라. 10. Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.
11. ¶ 이제 또한 많은 민족들이 모여서 너를 치며 이르기를, 시온을 더럽게 하고 우리 눈으로 시온을 바라보자, 하거니와 11. ¶ Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.
12. 그들은 {주}의 생각들을 알지 못하며 그의 계획을 깨닫지 못하느니라. 곡식 단을 타작마당에 모음같이 그가 그들을 모으리라. 12. But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.
13. 오 시온의 딸아, 일어나서 타작할지어다. 내가 네 뿔을 쇠 같게 하고 네 굽을 놋 같게 하리니 네가 많은 백성들을 쳐서 산산조각 내리라. 내가 그들이 얻은 것을 거룩히 구분하여 {주}에게 드리며 또 그들의 재물을 온 땅의 [주]에게 거룩히 구분하여 드리리라. 13. Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
1. 오 군대들의 딸아, 이제 너는 군대들을 형성하여 모일지어다. 그가 우리를 치려고 에워쌌으니 그들이 막대기로 이스라엘의 재판관의 뺨을 치리로다. 1. Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
2. 그러나 너 베들레헴 에브라다야, 네가 유다의 수천 가운데서 작을지라도 이스라엘에서 치리자가 될 자가 네게서 내게로 나아오리라. 그의 나아감은 옛적부터 있었으며 영원부터 있었느니라. 2. But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
3. 그러므로 산고를 겪는 그녀가 출산할 때까지 그가 그들을 내주리라. 그 뒤에 그의 형제들 중의 남은 자들이 이스라엘 자손에게로 돌아오리라. 3. Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
4. ¶ 또 그가 {주}의 능력과 {주} 자기 하나님의 이름의 위엄으로 서서 먹이리니 그들이 머물리로다. 이제 그가 크게 되어 땅 끝까지 이르리로다. 4. ¶ And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
5. 이 사람은 화평이 되리라. 그 아시리아 사람이 우리 땅에 들어와 우리의 궁궐에서 밟을 때에는 우리가 그를 치려고 일곱 명의 목자와 여덟 명의 우두머리를 일으키리니 5. And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
6. 그들이 칼로 아시리아 땅을 황폐하게 하며 니므롯 땅의 어귀에서 그 땅을 피폐하게 하리라. 그 아시리아 사람이 우리 땅에 들어와 우리 경계 안에서 밟을 때에는 그가 이같이 우리를 그에게서 건져 내리라. 6. And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
7. 또 야곱의 남은 자들은 {주}로부터 내려오는 이슬처럼, 사람을 기다리지 아니하고 사람들의 아들들을 기다리지 아니하며 풀 위에 떨어지는 소나기처럼 많은 백성들의 한가운데 있으리라. 7. And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.
8. ¶ 또 야곱의 남은 자들은 숲의 짐승들 가운데 있는 사자처럼, 양 떼들 가운데 있는 젊은 사자처럼 많은 백성들의 한가운데서 이방인들 가운데 있으리라. 그런즉 그가 지나가면 짓밟고 갈기갈기 찢으리니 아무도 능히 건져 내지 못하리라. 8. ¶ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
9. 네 손이 네 대적들 위로 들려져서 네 모든 원수를 끊으리로다. 9. Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.
10. {주}가 말하노라. 그 날에는 내가 네 말들을 네 한가운데서 끊고 네 병거들을 멸하며 10. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:
11. 네 땅의 도시들을 끊고 네 모든 강한 요새를 무너뜨리며 11. And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:
12. 또 내가 마술을 네 손에서 끊으리니 네게 다시는 점쟁이가 없으리로다. 12. And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:
13. 내가 또한 너의 새긴 형상들과 서 있는 형상들을 네 한가운데서 끊으리니 네가 다시는 네 손으로 만든 것에게 경배하지 아니하리라. 13. Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.
14. 내가 너의 작은 숲들을 네 한가운데서 뽑아내고 또 그와 같이 네 도시들도 멸하리라. 14. And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.
15. 내가 이교도들 곧 내 말을 듣지 아니한 자들에게 분노와 격노로 원수 갚는 일을 집행하리라. 15. And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
1. 너희는 이제 {주}께서 말씀하시는 것을 들을지어다. 너는 일어나 산들 앞에서 다투며 작은 산들이 네 목소리를 듣게 하라, 하셨나니 1. Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
2. 오 산들아, 땅의 강한 기초들아, 너희는 {주}께서 논쟁하시는 것을 들으라. {주}께서 자신의 백성과 논쟁하시며 이스라엘과 변론하시리라. 2. Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
3. 이르시되, 오 내 백성아, 내가 네게 무엇을 행하였느냐? 무슨 일로 내가 너를 지치게 하였느냐? 내게 증언하라. 3. O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
4. 내가 너를 이집트 땅에서 데리고 나오고 종들의 집에서 너를 구속하며 네 앞에 모세와 아론과 미리암을 보내었느니라. 4. For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
5. 오 내 백성아, 시팀에서 길갈에 이르기까지 모압 왕 발락이 의논한 것과 브올의 아들 발람이 그에게 대답한 것을 이제 기억할지니 이것은 너희가 {주}의 의를 알게 하려 함이니라. 5. O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.
6. ¶ 내가 무엇을 가지고 {주} 앞에 가며 높으신 하나님 앞에서 절을 할까? 내가 번제 헌물과 일 년 된 송아지를 가지고 그분 앞에 갈까? 6. ¶ Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
7. {주}께서 수천의 숫양이나 수만의 강물 같은 기름을 기뻐하실까? 내가 내 범법으로 인하여 내 맏아들을, 내 혼의 죄로 인하여 내 몸의 열매를 드릴까? 7. Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8. 오 사람아, 그분께서 무엇이 선한 것인지 네게 보이셨나니 {주}께서 네게 요구하시는 것은 오직 의롭게 행하고 긍휼을 사랑하며 겸손하게 네 하나님과 함께 걷는 것이 아니냐? 8. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
9. {주}의 음성이 도시를 향하여 부르짖는도다. 지혜로운 자는 주의 이름을 보리이다. 너희는 매 소리를 들으며 그것을 정하신 이의 말을 들으라. 9. The LORD'S voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
10. ¶ 사악한 자의 집에 아직도 사악한 보물이 있으며 부족하여 가증한 되가 있느냐? 10. ¶ Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?
11. 내가 사악한 저울과 속이는 추를 담은 자루를 지니고 다니는 자들을 깨끗하다 하겠느냐? 11. Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
12. 그곳의 부자들은 폭력으로 가득하고 그곳의 거주민들은 거짓을 말하며 그들의 혀는 그들의 입에서 속임수로 가득하니 12. For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
13. 그러므로 나도 너를 쳐서 병들게 하고 네 죄들로 인하여 너를 황폐하게 하리라. 13. Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.
14. 네가 먹어도 만족하지 못하고 네 한가운데서 내던져지며 네가 굳게 붙잡아도 건지지 못하리니 네가 건지는 것을 내가 칼에 내주리라. 14. Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
15. 네가 씨를 뿌려도 거두지 못하고 올리브를 밟아도 기름을 네 몸에 바르지 못하며 단 포도즙이 있어도 포도즙을 마시지 못하리라. 15. Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.
16. ¶ 너희가 오므리의 법규와 아합의 집의 모든 행위를 지키고 그들의 조언대로 걷나니 그런즉 내가 너를 황폐하게 하며 그곳의 거주민들을 조롱거리가 되게 하리로다. 그러므로 너희가 내 백성의 치욕을 담당하리라. 16. ¶ For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
1. 내게 화가 있도다! 내가 그들이 여름 과일을 거둔 때와 포도 수확기에 포도를 거둔 때같이 되어 먹을 포도송이가 없도다. 내 혼이 처음 익은 과일을 사모하였노라. 1. Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
2. 선한 사람이 땅에서 사라졌고 곧바른 자가 사람들 가운데 하나도 없도다. 그들이 다 피를 흘리려고 숨어 기다리며 저마다 자기 형제를 그물로 잡는도다. 2. The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
3. ¶ 또 그들이 두 손으로 열심히 악을 행하나니 통치자와 재판관은 대가를 요구하며 큰 자는 자기의 악한 욕심을 말하여 이처럼 그들이 그것을 싸서 감추느니라. 3. ¶ That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
4. 그들 중에 가장 선한 자가 찔레 같고 가장 곧바른 자가 가시 울타리보다 날카롭도다. 네 파수꾼들의 날 곧 너를 징벌하는 날이 이르나니 이제는 그들이 당황하리로다. 4. The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
5. ¶ 너희는 친구를 신뢰하지 말고 안내자를 신임하지 말며 네 품에 눕는 여인에게라도 네 입의 문들을 지킬지어다. 5. ¶ Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
6. 아들이 아버지를 욕되게 하며 딸이 일어나 자기 어머니를, 며느리가 일어나 자기 시어머니를 대적하나니 사람의 원수들이 자기 집 사람들이로다. 6. For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house.
7. 그러므로 나는 {주}를 바라보며 내 구원의 하나님을 기다리리니 내 하나님께서 내 말을 들으시리로다. 7. Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8. ¶ 오 내 원수야, 나를 치며 기뻐하지 말지어다. 나는 쓰러질지라도 일어날 것이요, 어둠 속에 앉을지라도 {주}께서 나를 위하여 빛이 되시리로다. 8. ¶ Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
9. 내가 {주}께 죄를 지었으므로 그분의 격노를 담당하려니와 마침내 그분께서 내 사정을 변호하시고 나를 위하여 심판을 집행하시며 또 나를 빛으로 데려가시리니 내가 그분의 의를 보리로다. 9. I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
10. 그때에 내 원수인 여자가 그것을 보고 수치로 자기 몸을 덮을 터인데 그녀는 전에 내게 말하기를, {주} 네 하나님이 어디 있느냐? 하던 여자니라. 내 눈이 그녀를 바라보리니 이제 그녀가 거리의 진흙같이 짓밟히리라. 10. Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
11. 네 성벽을 건축하는 날 곧 그 날에는 그 칙령이 멀리 옮겨질 것이요, 11. In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed.
12. 또한 그 날에는 그가 아시리아에서, 견고한 도시들에서 네게로 오며 또 요새에서 심지어 강에 이르기까지, 바다에서 바다에 이르기까지, 산에서 산에 이르기까지 올 것이로되 12. In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
13. 그럼에도 불구하고 그 땅은 그 안에 거하는 자들과 그들의 행위들의 열매로 인하여 황폐하리로다. 13. Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
14. ¶ 주의 막대기로 주의 백성 곧 갈멜의 한가운데서 숲 속에 홀로 거하는 주의 상속 백성 양 떼를 먹이시되 옛날같이 바산과 길르앗에서 그들을 먹이시옵소서. 14. ¶ Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
15. 네가 이집트 땅에서 나오던 날들에 한 것 같이 내가 그에게 놀라운 일들을 보이리라. 15. According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.
16. ¶ 민족들이 보고 그들의 모든 힘으로 말미암아 당황하여 자기들의 손을 자기들의 입에 댈 것이요, 그들의 귀가 막히리라. 16. ¶ The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
17. 그들이 뱀처럼 티끌을 핥고 땅의 벌레들처럼 자기들의 구멍에서 나와 {주} 우리 하나님을 무서워하며 주로 인하여 두려워하리이다. 17. They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.
18. 어떤 [신]이 주와 같으니이까? 주께서는 불법을 용서하시고 자신의 상속 백성 중 남은 자들의 범법을 지나치시나이다. 그분께서는 긍휼을 기뻐하시므로 자신의 분노를 영원토록 품지 아니하시는도다. 18. Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
19. 그분께서 다시 돌이키시고 우리를 불쌍히 여기시며 우리의 불법들을 누르시리니 주께서 그들의 모든 죄를 바다의 깊음 속에 던지시리이다. 19. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
20. 주께서 옛날부터 우리 조상들에게 맹세하신 대로 야곱에게 진리를 이행하시고 아브라함에게 긍휼을 이행하시리이다. 20. Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
